Donations

ICG-Kitchener is seeking donations from local businesses, individuals, service clubs, and other interested organizations to augment other fundraising activities, and to provide a stable base of funding to allow participation at the INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S GAMES annually.

Each athlete pays an initial registration fee to the Kitchener ICG, as well as paying for their travel, uniform, coach expenses, and any extra days' expenses. The costs vary annually depending on the location of the Games. Through donations and fundraising activities, the delegation attempts to cover as much of these costs as possible to avoid financial hardship for any family.

The KW Sports Council has created the KITCHENER INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S GAMES TRUST FUND to receive, manage and distribute funds to support the Kitchener ICG Chapter teams. The six trustees are appointed by the KW Sports Council: City of Kitchener (1), the Kitchener Waterloo Sports Council (2), one representative each from two KW sports clubs that have participated in the Games, and one community volunteer.

Trust Funds will be provided to:

•  Assist individual athletes and coaches who are members of a Kitchener or Kitchener-Waterloo based sport club and who have been selected by the Kitchener ICG to be a member of the Kitchener delegation participating in an International Children's Games;

•  Assist official members of the Kitchener delegation as appointed by the Kitchener ICG organizing committee.

Purpose of funds:

• Assist with travel costs, accommodation, food, team uniform and entry fees for the International Children's Games, and other expenses for the Kitchener ICG Chapter as the Trustees deem appropriate

Donations will be recognized on the Kitchener ICG website under the following criteria:

• Gold Sponsors - a donation of $5,000 or more

• Silver Sponsors - a donation of $1,000 to $5,000

• Bronze Sponsors - a donation of $500 to $1,000

• Supporters - any donation between $20.00 and $500.00
